Sandy’s Research
This illustration is one of my favorite pieces I created while my time at Syracuse and it stands as the first of a four part series. The series, Sandy Beech’s Aquatic Adventure, follows a Sandy Beech, an adventurous girl with a passion for the ocean, and her dog buoy.
Growing up in San Diego, and spending hours in the ocean and sand with my best friends, it’s hard not to fall in love with the water. I also spent 4 summers working with kids at The Hotel Del Coronado in their Kids Club, Ocean Explorers, teaching kids about the ocean and bringing them to the beach everyday to experience the adventure for themselves. This series acts as my love letter to the ocean and the memories I had with it as a child.
