New Horizons

Created for my Senior Portfolio class at Syracuse University, this illustration was inspired by the semester I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. While abroad, I decided to accept an internship through Paint & Wine, an instructor-led painting class designed for beginners, where participants create art while drinking wine. This was an amazing experience for me, and a fun way to meet locals and explore more of Florence. You can find Paint & Wine on the foot of the Ponte Vecchio, which is why I decided to illustrate myself on one of the most iconic views of the city.

Every Tuesday and Thursday in the spring of 2025, you could find me dodging through the crowds in front of the Duomo and on the Ponte Vecchio trying to get to Paint & Wine. Even with the crowded stoned streets and humid rainy days, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
